THIS ITEM IS SOLD This is a huge "make a statement" brooch. The beautiful bird has his wings open and is taking off. His whole body is encrusted with invisitbly set clear round brilliant cut rhinestones over a nubby silver tone metal. Most of the brooch is done is gold tone metal. The wings are all blue and green enamel and the tali is all blue and green enamel with feathers of clear brilliant cut rhinestones invisibly set as well. The beak is gold tone metal and the eye is a bezel set green brilliant cut rhinestone. The brooch is 6" long and 3" wide and is slightly convex. The pin is long and runs north to south. It is relatively straight with a safety clasp in good working order. I would date this brooch to the 1980s when everything was big and glitzy. All offers considered.
